Why Our Products Aren't in a Pink Tin

Why Our Products Aren't in a Pink Tin

Walk into almost any sporting goods store and you'll see it.

One product for boys.

The exact same product for girls.

Just in a pink package.

At Bravo Tango, we never understood that.

Girls don't need a pink version of someone else's product.

They deserve products that actually feel like they were created for them.

So we built a brand that looked different, sounded different, and wasn't afraid to have a little personality.

We Didn't Build a "Girls' Brand"

We built a hockey brand.

One inspired by the players filling dressing rooms across North America.

That meant leaving behind outdated ideas of what hockey products should look like.

No camouflage.

No fake carbon fibre.

No flames.

And definitely no "just make it pink."

Instead, we chose premium black packaging with holographic accents—modern, clean, and something players would actually be proud to pull out of their hockey bag.

Sure, one of our waxes happens to be pink.

But the tin isn't.

Because the colour of the product isn't a marketing gimmick—it's just part of that product's personality.

We Speak Gen Z

Today's players don't talk like previous generations.

So why should their products?

Our product names were designed to be memorable.

Blade Sauce.

Pillow Sauce.

Palm'd.

No Chap.

Then we took it one step further with our scents.

Instead of names like Fresh Ice or Cool Breeze, we leaned into the language today's players actually use.

It's Giving California.

Lowkey Expensive.

Basic AF.

Obsessed FR.

They're fun.

They're current.

They make people smile.

And they're memorable enough that players remember exactly which scent they want next time.

Built Through Girls' Hockey

Bravo Tango was inspired by girls' hockey.

Watching girls walk into stores only to find "girl versions" of products that were clearly designed for someone else never sat right with us.

We wanted to create products that felt premium, modern, and unapologetically cool—without relying on pink packaging to tell people who they were for.

That perspective shaped every decision we made.

The branding.

The colours.

The names.

The scents.

Everything.

The Best Part?

The boys love them too.

Turns out, when you build products that perform, look good, smell incredible, and have personality, nobody asks who they were designed for.

They just want one.

And honestly...

We're okay with that.

Because Bravo Tango was never about making hockey products for boys or girls.

It was about making hockey products this generation actually wants to use.
